Barkaboom Lodge is the ideal Catskill getaway for the discerning user. The house originally 1850’s vintage was renovated in early 1800’s rustic style and crafted with hand hewn hemlock beams, recycled barnboards and period lights. The furniture rather eclectic is from China, Indonesia, Morocco, Africa and other exotic places. The lodge features three bedrooms, two full baths, private office, video lounge, well appointed industrial kitchen and a sixty five foot mahogany wraparound porch. Special features include DirecTV, DSL wireless internet, and state of the art sound system. Numerous Audobon prints, historical photos, masonic art and oriental rugs fill the house and multiple english stained glass windows adorn your stellar views to the pond, river, meadows and woods beyond.
The lodge is situated in a beautiful Bovina hollow a mile from Bovina center. Fishing and birdwatching are plentiful at Barkaboom. Enjoy barbecues, campfires, star gazing or the 1973 Airstream. Cultural spots close by include West Kortright Center, Glimmerglass, Woodstock Film Festival and Madison Bouckville Antique Fair. The Birdhouse is the oldest building on the property built in the 1830’s. Post and beam and early American in vintage and is available for rentals or photo shoots upon special request. The building has gone through total rennovation and has a small rustic kitchen one full bed, one queen bed and a small cozy bath with shower and a wrap around porch. The Birdhouse has internet as well as a great sound system.
The Dry Creek Palapa is an open air Bar built in the style of the palapas of Mexico and Central America. The Dry Creek is used by Lodgers, for Special Events and as a listening Space For musicians using The Barkaboom Studio. The Building is 50 ft. from Barkaboom's Bass pond is surrounded by 1600 sq.ft. of Terrace and has a companion bathroom building in proximity. The Dry Creek Is also 200 ft. away from the Little Delaware River and is a stellar sunset location on the Barkaboom preserve.
